Pressing the remote or quickly pressing the wall button either does nothing or causes the door to start closing and then reverse. Holding the wall button allows it to close completely.

Is this usually caused by misaligned safety sensors, dirty sensor lenses, damaged wiring, or could there be another problem with the opener? What fixed yours?

The breaker can be reset and the power comes back on, but after some time it trips again. There doesn't seem to be an obvious increase in how much electricity is being used.

Could this be caused by a faulty appliance, overloaded circuit, bad breaker, short circuit, or a wiring problem? What turned out to be the cause in your case?
